i recently bought a whole bunch of fake dvds ... anyway i decided to watch a couple of movies last night ...

the first movie i saw was rendition ... it's about how the CIA has secret detention facilities outside the US where 'terror' suspects are interrogated in brutal ways ... it's not a documentary ... it's an actual movie ... a lot of names you might recognize ... jake gyllenhaal, reese witherspoon, peter sarsgaard, and meryl streep ... i guess the best way to describe it is that it's very similar to syriana ... except it's not about oil, it's about rendition ... click here to watch the trailer ...

the second movie was much lighter ... it's called juno ... it's about a teenage girl who finds out she's pregnant ... the movie begins with her discovering this little piece of information ... so she considers abortion for a second but then decides not to go through with it ... instead she decides to have the baby but not keep it ... her plan is to give it to someone who will love it and take care of it ... sounds like a serious movie but it's not ... it's more comedy than drama ... now usually i tend to be a little cynical when it comes to such movies ... the conspiracy theorist in me sees them as social engineering propaganda from the evil hollywood ... but it was a good movie although i didn't think it was very realistic ... it's more only-happens-in-the-movies-and-never-in-real-life ... click here to watch the trailer ...
