there is this place called juice world ... they have every kind of juice you can think of ... the combinations are endless ... fruits ... ice creams ... cocktails ... smoothies ... ice coffee blends ... i tried it a few times and liked it so i started buying their juice in big sizes ... i got two 5 liter jugs yesterday ... one is kiwi strawberry ... and the other is lemon orange ... delicious ... no more store bought juice for me ... goodbye nada juice ... you were once my favorite kind ...

i was at the supermarket the other day ... and i passed by the juice section ... and i noticed almarai has released a new juice ... pomegranate flavor ... which i thought was interesting ... so i got one ... as it turns out it's gross ... at first i poured myself a glass and i thought maybe there was pepsi in this glass before or something ... there's no way the juice tastes this bad ... so i went back to the fridge and took a drink right out of the bottle ... still gross ... the stuff tastes like cough medicine ... smells like it too ... i normally don't buy almarai juice but this one piqued my interest ... anyway it's a major fail don't try it ... stick to nada juice ...

the last time i went home i took back a ton of cheese pastries ... they're sort of finger size croissants with jibne baida inside ... so i've been eating a lot of them ... but then it got boring ... so i started eating them with dip ... i tried barbecue sauce ... mustard ... strawberry jam ... all delicious ...

i was at subway yesterday buying what would be my dinner ... and the guy ahead of me ordered what had to be the strangest combo ever ... a hotdog with tuna ... i am not making this up i swear ... also the guy looked just as strange as his taste in sandwiches ... tuna or not i don't think i've ever seen anyone order the hotdog at subway anyway ...

If you're looking for a Guinness, you won't find one in Abu Gosh.
No one in the largely Muslim village sells beer.
But if it's a Guinness world record you want, they now have one: the world's largest dish of hummus. And it's a dish all right.
A 6.5-yard satellite dish with more than 9,000 pounds of hummus, the stuff of both consensus and controversy in the Middle East.
The new record beats one set only two months ago in Lebanon, which has been waging a culinary-rights war with Israel for the last two years.

shawerma reem has been featured in the new york times ... no kidding ... the article calls it a "place with a reputation for the best beef and lamb shawarma sandwiches in the Middle East" ... but they are professional enough to point out that "there is no way to say for sure that Reem’s shawarma is the best in the Middle East" ... obama is also mentioned in the article as saying "Michelle and I love Reem's shawarmas" ... no i made that last part up ...

if i ever open a shawerma restaurant ... i'm going to call it ... devour-ma-shawerma ... get it ... pretty clever no ...

so i found something cool ... it's this lady on flickr ... she makes cakes that look like stuff ... like megatron for example ... or scooby doo ... or even a plate of spaghetti ... imagine if her cakes tasted as good as they looked ... what if they did ...

the vega

kudu has this new sandwich ... it's called a vega ... i tried it today ... i like the philly beef and the philly chicken sandwiches at kudu ... i usually get one or the other when i decide to eat there ... or both ... but back to the vega ... i thought i would try it ... i had to wait about 15 minutes at the drive-thru window while prayer time concluded ... man that's annoying ... but that's a different story ... they opened up and i told the guy one vega meal please ... ok 15 riyals ... pretty cheap ... i proceed to the next window ... while waiting i look at the receipt he handed me ... it says viggie sandwich ... i'm thinking did he mix up my order with a vegan sandwich or something ... i knock on his window ... i'm like did you give me the vega ... he's like yeah ... i'm like is that the same one in that poster ... i point to the promo poster on their window ... again he's like yeah ... hmmm ... ok nevermind then ... but inside my head i'm like shit i ordered a veggie sandwich didn't i ... vega vegan ... i am starting to see the connection ... i thought vega was some spanish thing ... google it and you'll find pictures of hot chicks whose last name happens to be vega ... or that dude from street fighter ... but you will not find vegetables ... oh well too late now ... i take the order and go home ... it's nasty i tell you ... it's some kind of vegetable patty covered in fried bread crumbs ... there's like corn and peas and carrots in there ... and i don't know what else ... do not be fooled by the picture ... i know it looks like a breaded chicken filet ... well it isn't ... don't get the vega ... it's awful ... just awful ...

i'm still on break ... i'll write a post recapping all the "exciting" things i did during the holiday later after i get back to riyadh ... notice the quotes around exciting ... that's not a coincidence ... anyway i was watching late night with jimmy fallon and he made a joke about this guy in his monologue ...
