who remembers the game diablo .. well anyone who who has ever played computer games should remember it .. classic game .. anyway here's why i mention it .. like i said i was in makkah the other day .. so remember your first mission in the game .. or was it called a quest .. anyway .. so you go to the town monastery .. and as you enter your character says the sanctity of this place has been fouled .. my feelings exactly .. still .. it is makkah .. and inshala one of my 2012 resolutions is to go more often ..

i went to makka with a couple of people from work the day before yesterday .. we got there as isha prayer was starting .. it was hot and crowded .. but i don't regret going .. it really was crowded though .. a bit overwhelming really .. you never see so many people in one place in your life ..

been loading up my new ipod .. so much memory to fill yay .. i downloaded the entire mus7af by yaser eldosari as a torrent overnight .. i was so glad i found it .. it had a lot less seeders than some of the more famous guys .. maybe i'll download some of those too .. now that i have so much memory lol .. but on the other hand i have like 80+ gb of music on there .. so i need to balance it out .. i'm gonna start listening to it from tomorrow .. no more music for a while .. here comes ramadan .. speaking of which .. tv channels are already running ramadan promos .. UGH!

btw .. i have NO idea how i'm going to fast this year .. it's going to be HARD .. but washing away your sins always is ..

to burn or not to burn

some people are debating whether what bouazizi did was right or wrong ... talking about does he deserve to be called a hero ... is he going to heaven or hell ...
first of all before i offer my own take on the issue let me say a couple of things ... what he did was commit suicide ... there's no debating that ... and suicide is a very grave sin ... there's no debating that either ... i think even atheists would agree that suicide is a serious transgression so it's not a religious thing ...
having said that ... context is very important ... considering all the events that led to him taking his life it's kind of understandable why he did what he did ... i'm not saying it justifies his actions however it does help us see him as a victim of a brutal regime that drove him to despair ...
and so here's the way i see it ... what he did was not right ... in the sense that it was suicide and suicide is a grave sin ... however to talk about heaven or hell is not for us to decide ... God is merciful and we pray that He will forgive him for what he did ... as for the question of is he a hero ... absolutely ... his sacrifice was the catalyst that set off the revolution ... rest in peace comrade ...
and while we are on the subject of suicide and it being a sin ... let me close with this ... if it wasn't such a huge sin ... i would've done it a long long time ago ... i'm just sayin ...

i can understand people who don't like religion ... what i can't understand is people who say there is no god ... i mean when you read things like this or this ... then you tell me there is no creator ... it just doesn't make sense to me ... i mean such things cannot be the result of some random explosion that happened when some gases collided ... that's just ridiculous ...

ramadan ranting

it is ramadan as you may have heard by now ... and some people think it is cool to post a ramadan greeting on facebook then tag all their friends on it ... then people start commenting on the greeting ... and facebook will send you an email saying "so and so has commented on a photo of you" ... first of all facebook this photo is not of me ... and second i have never met this person commenting on it so i don't give a shit what he has to say about it ... and so you go to the photo and remove the tag in order to stop receiving the notification emails ... normally such minor incidents would not annoy me ... but i haven't had a cigarette all day ...
