Petra Part II

a few days ago i had a post that was about petra .. well more or less about petra hehe .. the word petra was mentioned in there .. anyway the results came out and yes petra won .. WOOHOO .. it came in second actually .. first .. china's great wall .. well they do have that biggest population in the world thing going for them .. considering this whole thing was based on voting and not on any panel or anything .. so yeah having a huge population helps .. interesting fact is that UNESCO wanted nothing to do with this competition and even kind of called it a sham so it is safe to say that the competition was more commercial than cultural .. there was even some controversy regarding how it came to be known that a part of the revenues generated by the campaign was going to fund the restoration of the buddah statues destroyed by taliban .. you know that caused some people to murmur a little bit .. but anyway that's not the point .. so as i was saying petra came in second place .. hmmm so when you come in second .. does that mean you're somehow more "wonder"-ful than the bottom five .. nevermind .. in any case congratulations to jordan .. i hope that winning this contest brings you everything you think it will and more .. and uh .. where else can i go with this .. that's about it i guess .. wait i got one more thing to say before i go .. you know it's not really petra .. it's batra ..
