weekending

i was driving around last weekend ... that's a new hobby i've developed ... driving around ... i'll just go for a long drive ... smoking and listening to music whilst exploring the city ... anyway ... so last weekend i was driving around and i found this restaurant called almansaf ... which i thought was intriguing for obvious reasons ... but i was not hungry at the time ... so i didn't go in ... but i made a point of coming back one day ... so there is this yemeni guy at work ... i am his manager ... we are friends sort of ... anyway he had never had mansaf before ... so we went there for lunch today ... the mansaf was good ... although i'm not crazy about their laban ... i thought it was too salty ... but the meat the rice it was all good ... they had the 5ubz shrak and the ba2doonis and the loz and all that good stuff ... but the laban was not that good ... they also make msa5an and 2edreh and kusa w wara2 3inab ... it's a shame it's kind of far from where i live ... anyway ... it was his first mansaf ... he said he liked it ... i told him that the laban was sub-par ... told him if he wanted to have a truly delicious mansaf he should go to jordan ... so that was that ... pretty much the highlight of my day ... introducing one of my staff to mansaf ... he says he wants to introduce me to qat ... i'm open to the suggestion ... just try it once for fun ... moving on ... my vacation request got rejected ... i wanted to take three days off the coming week to visit my folks ... but apparently the big boss is coming from dubai so it's a no ... but i told him fine i'll take it the week after ... he said ok ... we'll see ... really need a vacation ... meanwhile ... finally took my laundry to the cleaners today ... so all in all it was a busy day by my standards ... playing crysis 2 these days ... awesome awesome game ... shooting people after a long day at work is beautiful ...

The meat, how tender and suculant and well spiced, and the garnish, the loz and ground beef and what not, are the best part of the mansaf if you got that part right the laban does not matter :p...I don't like cooked yougurt and i'm not a huge fan of jameed.

You gotta try qat and then tell me about it ;)

lol since the mansaf has now been made to represent a political stance, without the mansaf's concent I may add...in fact I'm sure the mansaf would be offended by such allegations and announce that it is a dish known to all bedouins roaming the desert and not a national dish to be put on the flag of a certain country, I became a little bit biased against it :O this is your example of how political bias can affect the taste buds :p
