jundi's two cents

well some of you may have heard about the latest wehdat faisali drama ... if you haven't then good ... just stop reading now and go on living not knowing ... but i digress ... i will not take sides ... nay i refuse to take sides ... the whole thing is disgusting as far as i'm concerned ... and it's been going on forever ... i never cared for it and i'm not about to start now ... i will however address the issue from a broader perspective ... let's think back a few months when algeria and egypt went to war because of soccer ... seems to be a trend in the arab world ... and it's not just domestic soccer ... even international soccer ... look how worked up we get over the world cup or el classico for example ... now one would think that there are far more serious things for us to fret about ... but apparently not ... as elton john would say ... it's a sad sad situation ...
it reminds me of the ending of duraid lahham's movie "التقرير" ... skip ahead to the 5:53 mark ...

It's NOT about football. YOu can "refuse to take sides" but you cannot refuse to see the issue for what it really is.

of course its not about football .. but i meant to say i refuse to get sucked in to this so called rivalry .. i would like to think such things are beneath me ..

what happened was terrible and the darak had no right to beat them like that .. but guess what the darak treats jordanians the same way .. so there it is ..

seeing the issue for what it really is .. id love to hear your thoughts on that .. for me the issue is simply فرق تسد .. la akthar wala aqal ..

You already heard my thought on this..over and over again.

Now it's your time to let me hear yours. Who's exactly behind this vicious fareq tasod policy?? not in general but in this very particular case...and how is the responsible party implementing it and what do they have to gain??

whos behind it .. the ruling elite who want to keep their subjects divided .. btw the ruling elite includes both palestinians and jordanians .. but they are too smart to give a shit about something as silly as what side of the river your grandfathers goats used to graze ..

Jundi please just get these overly elaborate conspiracy theories out of your mind...they are what the simple minded masses cling to; they are easy to believe and they explain things neatly. The truth is never simple...either to reach or to appreciate.

The situation in Jordan can only be fully appreciated by examining the unique history of the Jordan, from the time following the fall of the Ottoman rule until the emergence of the Hashmite kingdom. Only then you'll be able to see the significant role the tribes had played in building the state and the special place which that role had warranted them and which they still preserve to the present day. It is something which you cannot simply dismiss as a "conspiracy"!!!

Comparing the Faisali and Wehdat incident with the Egypt Algerian football conflict is a deliberate attempt by the witless Emad Hajjaj to take it completely out of context and distract the attention from what that incident really signifies.

is there discrimination against jordanians of palestinian origin .. of course there is .. do tribes wield a tremendous amount of sway .. sure ..
but i dont see how that contradicts what i said ..
