i thought the movie was based on the book which i loved ... it isn't ... it's like a sequel ... like what if alice went back to wonderland ... i know it's cliche to say movies are never as good as the book but it's true ... especially when you're completely scrapping the plot and only keeping the title ... this movie is awful ... it's a travesty ... obviously they could not come up with a story as good as the original ... not even close ... although they did keep most of the characters ... but it was a mix of characters from alice in wonderland and through the looking glass at the same time ... so in summary i absolutely hated it ... the only good thing about it was the queens ... everything else was shit ... 3/10 ...

I would never like to see "alice in wonderland" as a movie. I think it would be a dreadful movie..surreal and unsettling!
there was a theater in the compound i used to live in .. i think its the only one in all of saudi ..
how naive of you to assume one cannot see a movie until it is released on dvd :p
ya they absolutely butchered it .. i dont recommend it ..

يعني الفيلم حلو وأبداً ماحسيت بالوقت وأنا بشوفو.. حبيت كيف فسرو انها لماً كانت تروح على بلاد العجائب وهيه صغيره وكانت تفكر إنو حلم طلع لا كانت تروح عن جد.. الملكتين نهفه وحبيت مسرى الفيلم.. وهوه مش من هدول إلي بتكون النهاية متوقعة من أول دقيقتين بالفيلم..
وبالأخير أكيد..لولا إختلاف الأذواق لبارت السلع :)

ba3dain keep in mind the brilliance of the book was not in the story it was in the writing and the dialogue .. aslan there is no story to the book .. shes just going around meeting random characters and having interesting conversations with them .. then she wakes up in the end ..

ممم هلأ لو فتحنا مضوع إنو فيه تشابه مع فيلم تاني مش راح نخلص.. عشان هالأيام كلو بياخد مين كلو..
الخلاصة أنت ماحبيتو وشكلو حتى لو حضرتو كمان ٣ مرات ماحتحبو.. وأنا كتير حبيتو وما أظن اني راح اقرأ الكتاب :)

Yes I noticed.. Even the first chapter was different from the beginning of them movie..
lol I know but it will not be a dvd rip and hence the quality will be very bad. I'd never watch anything which is not top quality I'm very particular in that regard :smug:

Why would anyone take a magical children's tale which is all about imagination and the beauty of the language and turn it into a motion picture?? what's next?? "Thru the looking glass"??
its certainly not dvd quality but its not bad at all .. definitely watchable .. obviously one would prefer dvd but whos gona wait that long ..
i actually hate lotr .. i find it extremely geeky ..
and see i dont think AiW is a childrens book .. i think its way beyond childrens grasp .. i can understand how children might find it amusing but i think its a big mistake to classify it as a childrens book ..

Well.. I think both adults and children can enjoy the book. I read a simple version of it when I was a kid and was fascinated by it. I read the original only a few years ago so.
