that's deep

reading the road these days by cormac mccarthy ... no i did not get it because of the movie ... i've had this book for a year now ... but i will admit the fact that it's been made into a movie kind of encouraged me to finally read it ... anyway there was a nice quote in there ... when i read it i was like that is blog-worthy ... so here it is ...

You forget what you want to remember and you remember what you want to forget.

Perhaps it is deep but it is also not true :p

well because my desire to remember or foget something has no bearing on my memory. The decisive factor is the intensity of the event in question..very joyous as well as very painful events are both preserved in the memory.

Sad or painful events are more poignantly recalled i must confess

well i guess it all depends on the person .. a perky person would not agree with this statement at all .. a dark person with a lot of emotional baggage would ..

I think that true in a psychological way,
because when you need to forget something u think about it often that y u end up remmebring it,
nevertheless when u need to remember something YOU NEED that because its totally forgattable :\

i didnt call u perky i said a perky person probably wouldnt agree with the statement ..

shaima .. ya i guess .. from a psychological point of view i guess it can be explained that trauma tends to stay with you forever whereas everything else is fleeting
