A photographer from Holland won the Silver Camera Award for a picture he took of the Israeli army showering the nonviolent protesters in Ni’lin village, near Ramallah, with tear gas.
The photo was taken by Cris Toala Olivares in October 2009 as he was in the West Bank during the olive harvest season.
The Silver Camera Award is the top prize for press photography in the Netherlands.

took me a second to figure it out .. but im pretty sure that comment was meant for the previous post :)
The picture won an award for the photographer, but it's not gonna do anything more, it's not gonna stop the IDF from showering nilin or any other city with tear gas. It's just like that documentary about sabra & shatila.
ok i guess u didnt get the wrong post .. but thank u for explaining what u meant .. well ya of course its not gona stop the idf its just a photo .. but it helps raise awareness .. better than nothing i guess ..
wow..beautiful picture..and it becomes more so when one realiazes what those sort of stringed clouds hanging in the air really are!
