Joaquin Phoenix says there's no hoax about it: He really has given up acting to become a hip-hop musician. Phoenix has been spending his time laying down tracks for a rap album in the recording studio he built at his home, the two-time Academy Award nominee said Tuesday in an interview to promote what he claims is his final movie, "Two Lovers."

not that i give a flying #$%@ about joaquin phoenix or what he wants to do with his life ... that's not why i posted this ... it's just that reading this piece of news made me contemplate ... wouldn't it be nice to have that kind of financial security ... where you can say, you know what i think i'll quit my day job so i can become a rapper ...
