two nights ago kobe bryant scored 61 points at madison square garden to break the record for most points scored by an opponent at that arena ... the previous record of 55 points was held by michael jordan ... in fact kobe's 61 is also a new record for most points scored by anyone at msg - opponent or not ... the previous record was 60 points by bernard king 25 years ago ...
last night ... lebron james scored 52 points at msg to go along with 11 assists and 10 rebounds for a triple-double ... note that this is not the first time lebron scores 50 or more at msg ... who is the only other player with multiple 50-point games at msg ... michael jordan ... and who was the last player to score 50 points in a triple-double effort ... kareem abdul jabbar ... more than thirty years ago ...
