beirut .. here i come?
thanks to bureaucracy i might be able to take a vacation next month ... and to beirut of all places ... see here in the gulf there is thing they call the sponsorship system ... also known as nitham il kafaleh ... my father is currently my sponsor or kafeel ... but the company i work for wants to transfer my sponsorship from my father to the company ... now in order to get a good job title you have to be able to back it up with certificates ... and it turns out that my AUB certificate has to be stamped by the saudi embassy in beirut in order for them to recognize it here ... nevermind that it's stamped by both the lebanese foreign ministry and the lebanese ministry of higher learning ... that's not good enough ... so i was like ok so we'll have to send it with someone who's going to beirut and ask them to do me this favor ... maybe someone i know or my dad knows or whatever ... but then ... i was like why don't i go ... so i was talking to my friend on msn and i was like dude if i come to beirut for a few days can i stay with you ... and he was like yeah sure ... now granted it will only be for a few days if i do end up going ... four or five tops ... but still ... i'm seriously considering it ... and i don't even need a visa ... all i need is to fork almost 40% of my salary to buy tickets ... but it's worth it ... but i won't go till sometime in january ... it's been two years since i left lebanon ...
