today is lebanese independence day ... now i am not lebanese but i lived there for four years when i was attending AUB ... i even stayed during the war ... i attended the historic march 14 2005 rally in martyr square ... so lebanon or i should say beirut is a part of me somehow ... just one of the many places i've called home over the course of my life as a palestinian ...i guess when you think about it the term lebanese independence is kind of an oxymoron ... but anyway let's not rain on their parade ... so happy independence day lebanon ...
actually ... my last day in lebanon was november 21 2006 ... which was exactly two years ago ... ok fine so it was two years and one day ... it was also the same day that pierre gemayel was assassinated ...
