apocalypto is a movie about the last days of the mayan civilization ... mel gibson took part in producing, directing, and writing this movie ... the film begins with the onscreen quote "a great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within" ... this movie is not for the weak of heart ... it's very hardcore ... to say that it contains violence would be an understatement ... also there are no good-looking people in this movie ... so it's gory and ugly ... and yet it's an amazing movie ... very intense ... i should say that the entire movie is subtitled since the actors are speaking in mayan ... but that only makes it more authentic ... i give it 7.5/10 ...

Am not planning to see this one bas I saw : "A history of violence" and "Eastern promises" both for Viggo Mortensen the actor from lord of the rings movies..not bad.If you haven't seen them, I recommend.:)
