White Balloon

Lebanese people release white balloons in Martyr's Square in Central Beirut to celebrate an agreement by Lebanese politicians, ending the worst conflict since the civil war.

I don't know why I don't like the new agreement,something is not right!! u feel the same ??
You've been my only news source these days,so keep updating :D I heard so much news w ta7aleel I can't take it anymore..in this gazette, it's short and right to the point :)

hmmm .. well i guess the simplest analysis is its better than the alternative and at least it allows ppl to enjoy their summer .. having said that the agreement failed to address a lot of key issues like sla7 il muqawame for example .. so i wouldnt be surprised if it fell apart in a few months.

there was something i read that i thought was a very nice way of describing it .. the person said

"I think the Lebanese – who suddenly all seem to be very happy and enthusiastic and optimistic about the future - are happy with a dead bird, but who am I to rain on their parade? This is something like a postponement of the execution. It will come; just not now, but a little later."

I hope "later" means a couple of years and not for the summer ??

Lebanese are not the only people celebrating this, Jordanians, Palestinians, Arabs, my foreigner friends working in Beirut, just about everyone :)
