well it's been almost a month and a half since i quit my job ... i've done two interviews since then ... the first guy who interviewed me gave me some homework to do ... i did it and sent it in ... that was two weeks ago and i still haven't heard from him ... i'm starting to think he didn't like it ... oh well ... god knows i tried my best ...
the second one went better ... unfortunately the guy who interviewed me was not in a position to make the decision of hiring me ... even though he is the country manager ... but since i wouldn't be reporting to him he said that he can't - or rather he won't - make that call ... however he was impressed and said he would recommend me to the guy who will make the call ... i'm flying to riyadh on tuesday to meet with him ...
there was a third company that called me to schedule an interview but i hung up on the guy in the middle of the phone call ... i didn't like where it was going ...
so yeah two interviews so far ... both jobs are excellent opportunities ... i don't mind either one ... however the first one is a marketing position and since i am a marketing major i am kind of leaning towards that one ... plus i was really impressed with the manager who i would have been reporting to ... although i think the second job pays better ...
the second job is a logistics position ... my previous job was also in logistics so i have some experience in that area ... it's with a really good company so i have no problem with it ... but if i take this one i am kind of sealing my career path ... well i'd have to get the job first but you know what i mean ...
and both jobs would entail me moving out of the house ... one is in riyadh and the other is in jeddah ... i live in dhahran for those who don't know ... i'm not saying this blog would die but things would definitely get a lot quieter around here ...
so anyway i am praying and hoping for the best ...

I heard that Jeddah is a better place to live than Rhiyad, a little less conservative. Anyways, wish you the best of luck :)

pru .. yes jeddah is much more relaxed than riyadh .. it is very cosmopolitan which is a rare thing in saudi .. also the people of jeddah are city ppl as opposed to riyadh where the ppl tend to be bedouin .. plus jeddah has a sea and is close to mecca and madina :)
although if i get the riyadh job i would be living in a complex so its a little different.
and i didn't say i wouldn't have internet access .. but i just imagine i would be too busy to update my blog very often.
