Well, I guess it is because it is not emphasized as much. People make a bigger deal of Mother's Day and even Birthdays and Anniversaries!
To me, I just feel like many women are still misunderstood, underestimated, and oppressed in many ways that International Women's Day is only a joke or more like a dream. Maybe I am weird or something, but the first thing I thought about when I read your post is not Hillary Clinton, but some women in the Middle East and Asia and Africa who have no voice, no recognition, and not even appreciation. They have abuse instead.
Anyway, too dramatic? :P I am down for gifts too hehehe :D
rambling hal ... hey i know u hehe ... i read your blog sometimes :) Who's ever going to turn down a gift? not a girl that's for damn sure lol
hala ... nah ur not bein dramatic .. its the truth - women in third world countries have it rough .. and ya i figured that if hal wants gifts then you would want gifts too :p
Can I guess? I actually have it on my 'About Myself' page, but I never asked myself who the painter is! I always assumed it was Ismail Shammout because I saw similar paintings of his and fell in love with them :)
