mumblings

i woke up one day .. to find a tick attached to my skin .. sucking on my blood .. i made like i was going to flick it off .. but it looked up at me with big sad eyes and said .. please let me suck your blood mister .. it tastes so good and i'm so hungry .. look at me i'm so weak .. i'm going to die if you don't let me suck your blood .. being the nice guy that i am .. i thought about it and decided to let the tick stay a little longer .. but only till you get healthy i said .. then you have to go .. the tick thanked me heartily and resumed sucking .. i decided to name the tick .. looking back now i realize what a mistake that was .. shade .. that was what i called it .. when shade finally became strong and healthy i tried to flick it off .. but it was firmly attached to my skin .. somehow i didn't seem to mind .. i had grown attached to the little fella - literally and figuratively speaking .. i know that i could've tried to use tweezers .. or i could've just asked it to let go of me and leave .. that was the deal we had .. yet i didn't do it .. i guess a part of me wanted it to stay .. but as shade grew bigger and stronger .. it needed more and more blood .. shade was literally bleeding me dry .. i was growing weak .. running low on energy .. still despite the obvious negative effect it was having on my body .. i didn't ask shade to leave me .. that's how strong our bond had become .. i was willing to lay my life on the line for shade .. and then one day i woke up .. i looked at my right arm .. that's where shade had attached itself .. i wanted to say good morning .. but shade was not there .. in its place was a big gaping hole .. i found a note by my pillow .. it was from shade ..

i am big and strong now thanks to you .. and thanks to me you are now weak and feeble .. i'm sorry to say that your blood is no longer good enough for me .. but thanks for taking care of me .. goodbye .. i'm off to find a new host
