Tagged

i've been tagged by robin .. i hate being tagged ..

the tag is that i have to list eight biographical facts about myself so here goes ..

1- i tore a ligament in my right foot when i was in seventh grade .. i was going through a skater phase at the time .. and i had a little accident while trying to do a grind .. my right leg was in a cast for about two or three months .. the cast was lime green .. i had to use crutches .. those things hurt your armpits!

2- i attended an american school until eighth grade .. it was co-ed .. the students were 99% american .. the teachers were all american .. we only got one period of arabic a day .. then i transfered to a school that was the complete opposite .. there was a boys section and a girls section .. the teachers were all arab .. the students were 99% saudi .. and we only got one period of english a day .. i stayed at that school for five years.

3- i've been in love three times .. and all three girls had an "A" at the end of their name.

4- i lived in beirut for four years .. i was attending AUB .. i graduated late summer last year .. i got a BBA in marketing .. i got to witness some of the big political changes while living there .. like hariri's assassination .. i was there on march 14, 2005 .. i was there throughout the 2006 july war .. it's a crazy country .. it changed me permanently.

5- i lived through the 1990 gulf war .. the whole desert shield and desert storm thing .. the scuds and patriots .. all that .. i was in first grade .. it was kind of scary but it wasn't dangerous at all.

6- i'm a big believer in conspiracy theories .. the freemasons, illuminati, templar knights, 9/11, etc .. i'm a big believer in that stuff.

7- i'm an "old-school" type of guy.

8- i want to learn how to play the drums one day.

and now for who to tag .. well as i said i hate tagging .. so i tag whoever wants to be tagged.

Sawwy for tagging you Mo:) (but just couldn't resist:)SHUKRAN for participating in this latest one!
The school thing, that must have been TOUGH transferring between systems like that. That's happened to alot of people and something should definitely be done about it, because to survive well in KSA you definitely need to be strong in both languages so BOTH systems should take that into accout.
AUB-LUCKILY you were able to go there. Long time ago during the age of the dinosaurs all the students from Saudi were transferred out during the civil war. All the girls mostly ended up here, MANY of them in Oregon in Eugene where the Saudi government thought they would be safe in the small town environment. It seems if you spend any time at all in Beirut you are SURE to experience SOMEthing. You were in first grade during the first Gulf War? You must have all been scared out of your minds. That was before everyone had satellite with CNN so my daughter (who was 12 at that time) here was TERRIFIED for her dad. We'd be watching CNN as they would be saying there were incoming scuds and we'd be on the phone calling to make sure the family was ok. It was an AWFUL thing to go through for you and everyone who was there.
And you have an "A" list! For an "old school" kind of guy who wants to learn to play the drums and has a promising future in front of him, those girls were LUCKY! Now the trick is to be the one who is more than lucky enough to win you for life!!
Masalama from the dinosaur from So-Cal who always enjoys reading you.

and what you said about the gulf war .. yeah CNN that's what everyone was watching .. i remember how around that time we started getting armed forces radio and television .. or as it was called AFRTS (pronounced A-FARTS im serious) .. and yeah i remember the CNN promo they had "WAR IN THE GULF" .. i remember how some american kids would talk about visiting "the base" or having marines visit their homes .. i remember having to bring a gasmask to school hehe .. i remember how our class got so much smaller .. hehe .. damn to think that was seventeen years ago .. oh well .. later dinosaur :P
