i haven't plugged anyone or anything here in a while .. but last night while i was looking for palestinian blogs i came across this one called Raising Yousuf, Unplugged: diary of a Palestinian mother .. the author describes herself as a "Palestinian journalist who divides her time between Gaza and the United States, where Yousuf's father, a Palestinian refugee denied his right of return to Palestine, and thus OUR right as a family to live together, resides. This blog is about the trials of raising our son between Gaza and the US, while working as a journalist, and everything that entails from potty training to border crossings. Together, we endure a lot, and the personal becomes political. This is our story" .. so here's the interesting part .. now i don't know the author personally but she used to live on my street .. well her family did .. they left ksa a few years ago .. i remember her mom would go out walking every morning and she would have a little radio with her playing quran .. i remember her brother hazem used to ride the bus with us to school .. anyway so i thought i would give her blog a plug.
