Palestinian medical sources have affirmed that Palestinian child Haitham Ali Abu Mefreh, 14, was in critical condition and went into coma after an Israeli settler shot him in the head in Takoo village, east of Bethlehem city, on Wednesday.
Palestinian citizen Esa Al-Shaer, who witnessed the crime, affirmed that the assailant stopped his car and shot at Palestinian children harvesting Almonds in the village’s farms before fleeing the place at high speed.
He also affirmed that the incident was unprovoked as the children were busy collecting the crops with Abu Mefreh on top of the Almond trees in the farm before the settler shot him in the head.
An IDF spokesman claimed that the Israeli occupation police would investigate the incident after family of the victim filed a complaint against the criminal settler.
