Criticize Israel = Lose Your Job

A Cherokee County (north of Atlanta) official has resigned from her position after criticism over comments she made on her Web site about Israel.
Mary Catarineau, who is on the Cherokee County Planning Commission, wrote about dismantling Israel as a way to achieve peace in the Middle East in an entry on her Web site, "My Diary With God."
Catarineau wrote that Israel "was artificially created to provide a place for Jews to avoid persecution after the Holocaust. The Holocaust is not going to recur, and Israel has caused nothing but problems. Jews can remain or leave, but give the land back to the Muslims."
Commissioner Derek Good said Catarineau's comments disturbed him. "She's clearly an anti-Semite calling for the dismantling of Israel," he said.

Hi Mohammed!
I saw this too and just thought it was absolutely ridiculous. I would like to know what her blogging and her comments have to do with her job with the city where she lives. And besides that, what was so darn bad about what she said? The post she evidently was fired for specifically has been removed from her blog but there was one before that

She doesn't exactly have a real good grip on the issues but to me that post I just gave you sure seems to me like she's got her "heart in the right place" and trying her best to understand and put forth possitive and prayerful comment

hmm i had a look at the link you provided .. didnt like it quite as much as the one i quoted to be honest with you :D
but yeah like you said she seems like a genuine person who thinks for herself instead of letting AIPAC do the thinking for her :)
