they say no luck is better than bad luck .. but doesn't having no luck qualify as bad luck .. i mean if you never get lucky .. you're unlucky .. because "un" means not as in unseen or uneven .. or it can mean the opposite of as in unhook or undress or unfold .. so unlucky means not lucky or opposite of lucky .. and isn't an unlucky person someone who is generally considered to have bad luck .. so how is having no luck better than bad luck if it's the same thing.
on the other hand .. if someone has no luck but never any bad luck .. should we consider that person lucky .. if the answer is yes then the person cannot be considered someone who has no luck.
people often tell others to "wish them luck" .. and the person will say "good luck!" .. i think i'm going to start telling people "no luck!" .. and if they look at me weird i'll just say "hey it's better than bad luck" .. whatever that means!
oh and good luck trying to understand what i just wrote :)

lol deep thoughts indeed :p
having no luck does NOT qualify as bad luck. Ok consider this, you buy a lottery ticket, the ticket wins (you're lucky), the ticket doesn't win (you're not lucky aka unlucky), the ticket wins and you go to cash in the money, you find out that your ticket is forged and you get arrested :p now THAT'S definitey bad luck..get what i mean?
do you believe in luck??
aha .. i see your point .. u are wise grasshopper :p
and yes i do believe in luck .. well everything is written of course .. that is to say nothing happens purely by chance .. but still some people are luckier than others there's no question about that in my mind .. why that is i don't know .. maybe someone ma7sood therefore always having bad luck .. or i don't know .. but definitely some people are luckier than others.
ok here's a question .. define luck!
does being born with good looks qualify as luck? or is it just things like finding a 100 dollar bill in the street that qualify as luck?
p.s. seriously getting sick of the word luck lol
lol ok well, I'd like to think of luck as God's treat to us unfortunate creatures. He bestows some moments of unexpected happiness upon us and that we choose to call luck. If you work hard to succeed at something you won't need luck now would you?? Something unexpected like finding a 100$ bill is good luck. i'm sick of the word luck myself but i'm not done delivering my point :p
Luck is god's gift for the ungifted. that's why they say one cannot possess both intelligence and luck (it's an arabic proverb)..so if you're really unlucky, you must be really smart ;)
Good looks are something else that will limit your luck (ask me about it :p) God figures he gave you beauty, he gave you brains, he'll take away your luck and make you pay! ok i'm very susceptible to blasphemy..do not tempt me :S
i dont believe in luck.
it doesnt exist, simple.
its not mentioned in Quran, only thing mentioned is fate. fa why waste our time in dwelling over what we dont have rather than celebrating the blessings we do. life is too short to think who's luckier than others.
pru: interesting thoughts .. since we are both sick of the word luck lol lets just end the discussion there :D
fee bee: nobody is dwelling :)
pru :D
you said something interesting .. "one cannot possess both intelligence and luck (it's an arabic proverb)" .. so my question for you is .. which would you rather have?
fee bee .. i think i know who you are :)
hmmm, what do you think i'd rather have? intelligence of course. At least i can be cynical and make fun of the lucky bastards :p
hmm .. i think i'd rather be lucky.
why .. cuz awalan i'd be lucky duh .. and taniyan cuz ignorance is bliss .. so the way i see it i'd be lucky and oblivious i.e. two birds with one stone .. i can only imagine the amount of happiness i would be living in lol
lol the perfect argument :p but well..someone like me could easily swindle and manipulate you out of your oblivion and happiness..even out of your money:p haha how can you beat that soldier??
have you read "the time machine"?? would u rather be a morlock or an eloi??
yes but my incredibly good luck would prevent you from succeeding in your nefarious plot to swindle me :p
and no i havent read the time machine so i have no clue what you're talking about lol .. but what the hell i'll answer anyway .. i'll be a morlock simply because of the first two letters :D
Something as lame as luck cannot stand in the face of my shrewd plans..i'll get your money and that's that:p
The time traveller travel thousands of years into the future and explores the changed bizzare world he encounters. People have evolved into two species; the beautiful, gentle, fragile Elois who live above ground and feed on fruit, and the dark monstrous morlocks who live underground and feed on ...Elois :p
aha .. sounds interesting .. i'll see if i can find it next time i'm at the library :)
btw .. after hearing the descriptions .. i'm glad i said morlock :D
