I've learned that in the Arab world, you can go through life being a complete jerk but if you "die like a man" then people will forgive all your crimes and transgressions and regard you as an idol and a hero.

And I've learned that Arabs have a very short memory. They would label someone as a criminal, and would change their minds later on (like what happened with Saddam).
Or they would label someone as a hero then would call him a terrorist later on (like what happened with Bin laden after America's 9/11 (hero) and then after Jordan's 11/9 (terrorist))
Yeah, apparently arabs think with their emotions not with their minds.
I actually made the mistake of trying to discuss the matter with some of the people who think Saddam is a hero and a martyr. What a waste of time that was!
